Workout Apparel In Everyday Life

If you've ever seen Fleet Feet co-owner Kristina Smith around the store or around town, you can tell right away she knows a thing or two about how to make workout apparel and casual clothing look good together. Well, today she has a few snazzy crossover apparel outfit suggestions.

*****

I see a woman sporting her athletic wear outside the gym world or for reasons other than fitness every day. Let’s be honest: these stretchy pants are totes comfortable. And it’s easy to feel comfortable and cute in this “ATHLEISURE” world we live in.

Have you ever dressed up in some solid running pants with a dress sweater and some leather boots? Or what about an athletic top with some cute casual jeans or shorts?

Here are a few crossover outfits I love:

This Lucy brand vest is paired with a solid black long sleeve, and finished off with Paige jeans from Urban Laundry.

Here’s that same pair of Paige jeans from Urban Laundry coupled with a Nike lifestyle hoodie. Totes adorbs.

This causal wrap sweater looks and feels great with a Nike tank and Nike running tights.

Superfeet premium insoles aren’t just for running shoes. Here’s a pair of my fave boots with Superfeet. And I’ve found Superfeet to be useful in every pair of shoes I own. The Merino Wool edition goes great in your favorite pair of Uggs.

These are just a few crossover outfits that are easy to put together. If you love your wearing workout clothes and want to pair them up with something else as casual wear, just ask us and we’ll do our best to give you suggestions.

Stay warm, stay safe: What to wear this winter

We runners generally don’t like to let chilly weather or pesky darkness stop us from fitting in a workout. And Fleet Feet Chico has the gear you need to remain warm and visible during your workouts this fall and winter. And, any of these would make fantastic gifts this holiday season. Just sayin'...

New Balance women’s Beacon Jacket
You’re sure to stand out when wearing this one. Reflective trim and brilliant patterns around the jacket offer 360-degree visibility in low light. In full daylight, this jacket remains attractive. New Balance running gear is always a favorite and this jacket follows that well-lit pattern.

Brooks PureProject Shelter Jacket
This unique running jacket combines the look of a suit jacket with the versatility of a running jacket. It features a water- and windproof Herringbone shell fabric with 360-degree 3M reflective threading woven right into the fabric. A pair of front hand pockets and a chest pocket provide ample space for keys, phone, running gels, etc. Available in two colors.
The North Face Night Light Beanie
Few companies are as synonymous with comfort in the cold as The North Face—and this beanie definitely follows that rule. If you’ve ever worn a beanie from The North Face, you know the quality is second-to-none. Reflective yarns are cleverly woven in for increased visibility, and it features a fleece ear band. Color options are TNF Black and Monument Grey.

Black Diamond Ion Headlamp
Available in four colors (Fire Red, Matte Black, Ultra White and Ultra Blue), this small, light headlamp features powerful LEDs and uses a touch-sensitive housing to operate. Just slide to turn on and off. Runs on AAA batteries.

Nathan Pulsar Strobe Light

This killer little light (the smallest and lightest Nathan offers) packs a 6-lumen punch. It offers three different strobe modes, clips easily anywhere (including shoes) and offers multiple points of light. Use it for running, as well as other activities like cycling, walking the dog (clip it to Fido’s collar) after dinner or any task around the house where you could use an extra dose of hands-free light. Comes in three colors: Floro Fuschia-Celeste Yellow, Fiery Red and Sulfur-Nathan Blue.
