 Performance wool is an ideal choice for running in all seasons...even the warm ones!  Yup, think about all of those sheep out there with their thick, woolly coats, standing out there in the sun.  Do they bake?  No.  Their coat is actually made to regulate their body temperature to keep them dry and warm in the cold, and likewise, dry and cool in the heat.  Why can't we use this same principle for us humans?  Good news!  We can!  Check out these 6 Good Reasons to Workout in Wool.

NEW SHOE: Asics GT-2000!!!





  





Over the past 6 years, the Asics GT 2100 series has earned a reputation as one of the best daily trainers, period. The upper is a natural fit for runners of all stripes, the midsole balances cushion and responsiveness, and the outsole wears well for hundreds of miles. By far, it is Asics’ top seller in the running shoe category.

So when the company decided to redesign this shoe from the ground up and launch it under a whole new name – the GT-2000 – do you think they goofed around? No way. They invested in engineering and product testing to make sure the new shoe would perform better and remain a fan favorite.

What to Look For:

• More Cushioning: The GT-2000 has the largest Gel pad of any GT series to date.
• Two-Layer Midsole: The dual layer Solyte foam allows for differing foam densities for a gender-specific fit.
• Updated Pronation Support: The new Dynamic Duomax continues to provide support through a redesigned medial posting in the lower portion of the midsole.
• Reconstructed Heel Collar: Asics redesigned the Personal Heel Fit heel collar system to help keep the shoe comfortably locked in place on the foot.
• Seamless Upper: Welded overlays reduce the risk of hotspots forming or a random seam jabbing your skin.
• 10mm Offset: This shoe drops a bit from the GT-2170, which has an 11mm offset. The 1mm change will not be perceptible but is designed to reduce weight slightly.

NEW SHOE: Saucony Cortana 2!!!

What to Look For:

• Lighter Weight: The Cortana 2 loses over an ounce in both Men’s and Women’s models, thanks to the materials used in the new upper. Weights are estimated at just 9.8 oz (Men’s size 9) and 8.6 oz (Women’s size 8).
• New Upper Design: The basic design elements of the original Cortana – open mesh, a structured heel, and a fade-out color scheme – are refined in this update.
• Unchanged Platform: The midsole/outsole of the original Cortana carries over in the update to the Cortana 2. That means you still get a resilient ride along with a good amount of cushioning for higher-mileage runs.

This Cortana 2 was released October 1st.

With this simple device you can: race your virtual pacer, upload your runs and see your route mapped out, see your runs charted by detail like pace and elevation, and it keeps you motivated by letting you know when you've done your longest or your fastest run!
